Not in Alaska. Anyone can carry a concealed weapon in Alaska, no permit required.

Good. That's how the Constitution intends it to be. Be careful who you let into office. You might end up with a Hickenlooper or a Bloomberg.

We already thought of that, which is why we amended our State Constitution in 1994 to read:
A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. The individual right to keep and bear arms shall not be denied or infringed by the State or a political subdivision of the State. [Amended 1994] --- Article I, Section 19, of the Alaska State Constitution
Boroughs, cities, towns, and villages cannot impose gun laws any stricter than already in place by the State.
