Ah but most gays aren't married even in states that allow it.

You can lower the risk factor by eliminating gays.

Simple logic.

Apply it.

But all unprotected sex is not the same. Banning Heterosexual men who've had unprotected sex would do almost nothing to the odds of contracting HIV because Heterosexual men having unprotected sex are highly unlikelyto ever contract/pass HIV. However, if you eliminate 2% of the population (Gay men) from donating blood, you lower the chances of an innocent victim being infected by almost 60%. Now eliminate IV drug users & the odds become extremely unlikely that an innocent victim will be infected. It's not discrimination, it's reality & common sense.

Not true. The risk with unprotected sex between a man/woman and woman/woman are pretty low. For man/man it's extremely high.

So Heterosexual men who have unprotected sex should be banned from donating blood despite not being high risk for contracting/passing HIV? Why?

Correct, what percentage of gay men are HIV positive? If you randomly selected 1000 gay men how many would have HIV.

Well it is good to know you rely on false logic, did you know a woman can't get pregnant for a week after her period?

Well you wouldn't have half of them being HIV positive if that is what you are wondering.

You can really lower the risk by eliminating unprotected sex, simple logic.

That's a tough thing to pin down - a big problem being defining what a gay man is and then measuring how many gay men there are. My best educated guess (and it is based on more than a gut feeling) would be somewhere between 10-15% of gay men are HIV positive.
