They're going independent. But seeing as the GOP continues to push religious extremism and social issues, both of which millenials disagree with them about, they're still not going to be inclined to vote Republican.

Oh yeah I was just speaking on majorities and the average American (who would not be on a political forum)-I always like having discussions with you. I know plenty of people 30+ and even 60+ that are intune and aware-many from this forum. But for many people, it seems the longer you have been living with a system the harder it is to see flaws or want change.

It's a version of confirmation bias, except in this case, he (or she) was actually inferring something that simply wasn't there.

Don't be too hard on him (or her). These kids have been so thoroughly conditioned, it's all but impossible for them to accept that there's any alternative to what they've been raised to believe. The only thing that's going to change their mind is a large dose of reality smacking them squarely in the face.

Yes a good dose of reality especially for those who worked hard. Now they get to see more and more of the money they earned taken away. They may as well just get a surf board and surf like the welfare surfer dude.

I don't know where you are getting this nonsense from. Are you sure you aren't being fed a bunch of propaganda?

Very true. And my cousin on the other hand is a perfect example of 30+ (2 years younger than me) and seems to lean more and more to the left. Which is odd, given his dad (my uncle) is a staunch Republican. I try not to get into any political debates with my cousin, as it can be exhausting.

Typical kid... Thinking that they've discovered some big thing...

I have news for you - corruption has been around in politics since politics has been around. Nothing's changed much in that regard in thousands of years. All you can do is try to temper it.

The "old heads," who were just as outraged as you are when they discovered that fact however many years ago, understand that corruption in politics isn't going anywhere. There's nothing you can do to remove it - ever. All you can do is try to keep it in check by reminding your elected representatives that they work for you, not the other way around.

In other words, YOU may have just discovered this, but the rest of the adult world has known about it for a long time, and you're basically just beating a dead horse.

Want to make a difference? Write letters. Not e-mails, not tweets, not facebook postings... Write LETTERS to your representatives. CALL them on the phone. GO to their town hall meetings. BE ACTIVE IN THE POLITICAL PROCESS, and I don't mean by simply voting every year or two.

Throw obama out of office and another puppet replaces him. I think people forget who the government is actually working for, and it ain't the people of the US.

Exactly! And that is why government should be minimized.

And then of course there is this. And it matters not whether they're a D or and R. But of course we the people keep following for it, and voting the same morons in. Wash...rinse...repeat.
