A 20 year old woman who focuses on school and work gets $0.

I don't see the point in this program at all.
This is fiction. The 20 year old women who goes to college gets money from the government as well. Stop lying.

The fact is that there is no oversight, and cashiers do not monitor the purchases.

Don't jump all over me, I was responding to an earlier poster who stated the card probably had a cash side of the card. I am nowhere near New York (thank goodness) and I'm not on welfare so I have no clue how those things work exactly.

No idea how you go about doing something like this. I'm not on welfare, don't work for the government and have only used welfare one time 25 years ago for 3 months, food stamps only when I had no income and had babies to feed.

And people can't understand why I say I have transitioned to being a pro-nanny-state voter.
Pretty sure EBT cards existed before the socialist reign of Barack Hussein Obama.

How much money is a person allotted per month on an EBT card?

Depends entirely on how many babies they've decided to pop out.

She was trying to swipe a card but it wasn't going through. She started blaming the clerk and he asked what type of card it was, she said "It's an EBT card, you don't take EBT cards?" The clerk said that they "certainly do." After 5 minutes of trying to get the card to work, she said "Just void the rest and give me the cigarettes." So the clerk voided the bag full of crap and scanned the cigarettes. Then she paid with the EBT card and it went through.

I thought you couldn't buy cigarettes with an EBT card? I just looked it up and everywhere say you can't do it, yet clearly she did. I also found a story about a NH clerk who was fired for refusing to process an EBT card for cigarettes. Does anyone know the real answer to this?
I just went to a local Walmart and shopped for some grocery items. I asked the cashier what percentage of people use EBT cards...she said on average days, 40-50% however on some days in an 8 hour shift, she only had 2-3 people that did not use an EBT card! She said to me what you hear in the news is not true and many people are abusing the program.

The real answer is as pissed off as I am to tell you is like this.
You and I pay taxes that are managed by our government to give out in programs like
food stamps and there is absolutely no accountability, systems checks, audits, integrity,
moral, shame, ect, ect, ect. The program is wasteful, you see it, I see it.

Watch when they leave the store to see what kind of car they are driving...this will even more
**** you off. Once I saw a young lady load up a pretty new Cadillac Escalade with chrome rims.
$80,000 vehicle with a handicap placard hanging from the rear view mirror. I bust my ass working and am paying taxes that are given to scum bags that seem to be perfectly fine to work, but have no SHAME and would rather live off government freebies.

When the money runs out, look out!

I agree with everything you said except for this part. A Cadillac Escalade will not anywhere close to $80,000. Right around $60,000 is what you'd pay for a brand new fully loaded Escalade. However yes, you are correct that many of these people drive Cadillacs or Mercedes or BMW automobiles. Must be drug trafficking.

When I was in college I was horrified that I got less in grant money than my loser welfare leech friend who was on drugs and never got good grades. I was an honor student who always did the right thing and that included working at McDonald's while she spread her legs.

I have mentioned this but a few Christmases ago I was in line and this woman in front of me was trying to buy electronics like a radio with a Link Card (the EBT in Illinois). I was astounded but the clerk says she gets that often. Back when I lived in Cook County I rarely saw someone using the card as it was intended. For everyone buying bread or milk or eggs was three people buying Doritos or Coke or cake or candy or lobster. I was disgusted.

Btw I didn't know you were in Chicago either. Chicago has so many wasteful welfare freeloaders.

Yes but there are a whole lot more of them in circulation today.

I knew a young woman who decided she wanted a baby. Instead of finding a good man to marry she said "I'm going to the club, find the best looking guy I can and F him, and hopefully get pregnant." That's exactly what she did...two times with two different random men. Not only did she go on every welfare program from A-Z she practically had her mother (the kids grandmother) raise the kids so she go out and party. Not sure if she tried to buy cigarettes directly with her EBT but she often offered me (and others) a swipe of her food stamps card if we bought her cigarettes.

The government pushes an anti-smoking agenda yet their welfare programs make it so easy for people to keep smoking who would otherwise quit because the taxes are so high.
