So what's the problem? PSGWSP. It's time to cull the herd.

Cops also often say that 90% of police activity is drug related. 90% of those 50% of Burglars that are in jail are there due to drugs.

No one ever said law enforcement will eliminate crime in the world. The goal is to contain it and do the best we can to keep law abiding citizens safe, and I think they are succeeding in it.

Keep up the good work guys. As opposed to slamming our men and women in uniform as failures, how about giving them a thumbs up for risking their lives to keep us safe?

The fact is, there are still too many dealers, underage users, adult users, and gangs.

Maybe even get the NSA involved, and bring back the troops for this too.

If we make the police force large enough, maybe we can even make alcohol illegal again once more.
No. History has shown that prohibition is a failure.

Why should you or the government be allowed to tell someone what they can and cannot consume? I understand if one harms another under the influence, but then PUNISH THE CRIME!!! Otherwise, all you're doing is making more criminals from otherwise normal American citizens. This isn't Singapore, nor do I want to see us become like that either!

You seem to have just made those statistics up right now. Proof?

I've heard from numerous cops that alcohol is by far and away the most frequent factor with police activity.

And besides, why would you want to imprison someone at the taxpayer's expense and Corporate America's gain for crimes with no victims? It just overwhelms the system and takes away from police actually doing their job and stopping violent criminals and thieves.

and as malamute said in one post, if they cant even keep drug use out of the very place they were sent to for doing drugs {prison} that says it all!!! total failure...

People should be allowed to manage their own lives. It has been proven that when drugs are legalized, usage goes down.

The US already has the highest percentage of prisoners to population in the world; 80% of them for mostly minor drug charges. Why would want to turn even more people into criminals? The wise thing would be to apply those billions of wasted dollars toward drug rehabilitation and awareness programs. Also, legalized drugs would be taxed which would create a monster revenue stream.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

My guess would be YES. He showed his hand when he added "drunk" to the list. Another government can save us sheeple.

Yea, lets release another violent career criminal from our overcrowded prisons, to make room for a benign drug possessor.

No, it is correct. People are safe. For exmaple murders have been cut to half. The drug war down here was looking awfully bad in the 1980s, but the good guys won, and killings are way down.

You and malamute are of the breed who want to declare defeat and throw in the towel. Such is the pessimist mind.

Lot's of people mention prison overcrowding. The solution is to build large outdoor tent prison camps to house all the druggies. I'm talking hard drugs only including meth. The more drug addicts we put in prison the nicer our communities will become.
