Why should people be allowed to sin against
their bodies and be stimulated, drunk, high, etc?
You do realise that self-gratification is also a sin, right? Maybe we should have cops stationed in every bedroom to prevent people from worshipping at the Temple of Onan.
No, it is correct. People are safe. For exmaple murders have been cut to half. The drug war down here was looking awfully bad in the 1980s, but the good guys won, and killings are way down.
You've gotta be kidding me.
You and malamute are of the breed who want to declare defeat and throw in the towel. Such is the pessimist mind.
Declare defeat?? How about declare freedom and allowing adults to be adults.
You seem intent on pushing your morals on everyone else. Back the eff off.
I agree with stopping the war on some drugs. The exception as other people have noted is Meth, and other drugs whose addictiveness and damage is so horrifically self evident. Meths....just bad. really really bad. The rest...hmm...I really don't care.
I'd be happy if more of my coworkers smoked pot or took ecstasy, less effective competition for the better jobs. I will crush them on the corporate ladder if they slip up like that. And I will hear the lamentations of their women! DEATH TO ALL WHO OPPOSE ME...err... ahh hem. Sorry there, got too excited for a second.
Lot's of people mention prison overcrowding. The solution is to build large outdoor tent prison camps to house all the druggies. I'm talking hard drugs only including meth. The more drug addicts we put in prison the nicer our communities will become.
I don't even know how you've come to this conclusion. It's absolutely mind boggling!

We spend too much money warring on our citizens.
While I "get" what you're saying (and agree mostly,) you are a tad contradictory. Either you trust adults to be adults, or you do not. The more intelligent the adult, the less likely they'll be to give in to addictive behavior. Drugs are nearly the perfect "thing" to cull out those who have no control. I know what it's like to have an addictive personality, but my will to quit was stronger than my addictions.
What you imply is to have a pick and choose war on drugs. This is no different than what we have now. Legalize it all, let God sort it out, and let adults be adults. The street gangs would all but vanish, and murder rates would really drop.

LOL, its hard telling if its sarcasm or a true belief sometimes. I...think...it might have been sarcasm, but....I am never really sure. Some folks here are totally completely disconnected from reality, and then a couple of them have a incredible sense of sarcasm. And unfortunately, there are times you never know which one is posting.

Marijuana does not make you lazy. At least not me.
I enjoy relaxing and using the stuff but I also work like crazy. At the beginning of last week I was working 2 jobs and 2 projects. Two of them being my own and one I contracted out with a consulting firm.
I don't have a drug policy for my employees but if you show up to work high, late, hungover, whatever you'll get sent home and reprimanded. If you can't perform your job you won't be around long anyway.
Guess its different strokes for different folks. Never tried any of the hard stuff or ecstacy, pills, etc. Just use the green stuff to relax and help me deal with these crazy mfers out here!

only a person like you would compare murder to some none violent person the blows a few lines or smokes weed..
We should build more prisons, pay more for tips, increase surveillance, giver harsher sentences.
The fact is, there are still too many dealers, underage users, adult users, and gangs.
Maybe even get the NSA involved, and bring back the troops for this too.
If we make the police force large enough, maybe we can even make alcohol illegal again once more.
End the war on drugs. Get caught selling the hard stuff and get an over dose from the stuff you were selling.
Users? On your own. What idiot would ever put that crap in their body? They deserve their fate.

If drugs were legalized, the only dealers would be under the governments thumb. You'd buy drugs like you do alcohol and cigarettes, and Uncle Sam would have tax stamps on all of it. Overdose rates would plummet simply because the quality control would be better and there would be no more poisons used to cut the drugs.
