What about morale at the little known National Reconnaissance Office, which has the same $10 Billion budget as the NSA and just recently launched this guy into space:

I didn't see anybody claim this. Not sure how it relates to thread title either.

The game site "spying" is all over mainstream.

Listen to how people talk on CD and other forums.

"The NSA heard that!"
"You realize everything you type is heard by the NSA"

So sad that people believe this.

Hmmm. Ok hadn't seen that. If you say so.

Not sure why you think it is sad. Didn't you just say you thought it was good for the NSA?

Im amazed you think they dont have it recorded. Seriously, this is all data for the machine as it were. Its not even all that complicated. Google has all of this indexed even. You knew that right?

I didn't say they didn't record it. I said that they can't "hear" it (meaning it actually passes through any meaningful linguistic based algorithm). At best it does some keyword, LSI, or basic triple-store type analysis. Just not computationally possible to analyze the universe of data in real-time. But the spectre that they somehow have those resources makes people scared way beyond what they need to be.

Meh, what do I know? It's not like I have a Ph.D. in this area. Oh wait, I do.

It's great for the NSA because they don't have to spend too much money or resources on surveillance. People are delusional enough to believe they have superpowers.
