Most large media organizations in any country including "free" countries engage in some degree of self censorship. In the case of the US and other industrial democracies, self censorship is driven by fear of losing media access and profits.

You right wingers are too cute. You would pick a dictator over a moderate Democrat. It would be funny watching Putin end all the far right winger things you guys love, but as long as he does it shirtless on a horse, you guys would be fine with it.

But the OP says the "right-wing" loves Putin, and you say Putin is still a hard-line communist from the old days of the USSR. Which is it? He cannot be both a communist and loved by the "right-wing."
I don't think that he is a communist. The real ideology of our govermnent is capitalistic. "The rich must be richer" and so on.

That guy that now is one of the main propagandist of Putin as a hero and mock Europe anytime he can, was the propagandist of the European life in early 1990s, when he got some funding from Brussels. So he is a typical propagandist. He said one things in 1990s (Russia must be like Europe, Europe is a good place) and now he says the opposite.
