You can get an idea from this:

Subsidy Calculator | The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation
And (people are free to research my post history). I predict many semi affluent people in their early 60s will take advantage of the ACA.

They will take early social security.

Plus take subsidies for health care.

It's a double whammy to the system. You lose tax paying citizens off the work force. Plus they are going to adjust their income so they get generous subsidies.

Wow, millions have been dying? Must have missed this in the news. ACA is a payback to the insurance companies that financially supported Obama's campaign
Subsidize people via HSA contributions, not insurance companies.

That is the mindset of the modern liberal progressives, these little tyrants think government bureaucrats and politicians are god's gift to mankind. As if bureaucrats and politicians, who have never worked as a health care provider, or car manufacturer, or power plant operator, et al, no best now to do all these things and know best how to spend OUR money.

Even when their incompetence is staring us in the face, the libs still think government does it better. Before we are done, healthcare.gov will cost the taxpayers a billion dollars.

Except Obama and his crew as so incompetent NO ONE in the insurance industry, health care industry or even Obama himself, are benefiting from this ObamaCare fiasco.

Obviously after spending around $800 million on the healthcare.gov web site, someone made out like a bandit. This is Obama's version of trickle down economics. Except this is more like the excretions from deep-seated pustules running down the leg of a small pox victim.

Build more 24 hour clinics and allow ER's to refer people with minor health issues to these instead of tying up emergency rooms. Subsidies for those with pre-existing conditions that have been funneled into the high risk pools. Allow insurance companies to sell across state lines if they wish. Post prices of procedures & office visits so consumers can make better choices. Encourage the purchase of at least catastrophic insurance, to prevent a family's financial ruin. Encourage wellness with lower insurance rates (we are going to lose this benefit in the new ACA requirements).

We have had insurance about 70% of the time in the last 15 years and when we didn't, we still were able to access healthcare for major health issues and then work out payment plans afterwards with the providers. Many of the poor in our community come to our food pantry and they are able to have the surgeries they need. It is propaganda that millions are getting sick and dying. We are already paying for the poor and uninsured through higher taxes and medical bills.

ObamaCare does not address the "U$ healthcare crisis," it's not about providing better health care, and obviously it's not about affordable health care, it just a bill that forces everyone to buy government approved insurance.

1. People aren't financially ruined because of medical bill. Single payer won't even save these people. Canadians who have single payer file Bankruptcy at same rate as USA folks. People have pre existing other debts way before medical debt sets in.

2. The number of people who don't have "true access" to affordable care probably is closer to 5% of the population and not 15%. That's the same rate as Switzerland and Germany. Remember 11 million people who don't have insurance in the USA have incomes over 75k. Another 15 million are young people who easily could have chosen high quality HSA compatible pre ACA plans with much longer deductibles for $2500 max out of pocket expenses and $100-130/ month. Now they are going to get hit with up to $6300 deductible

So you are talking about 15 million who don't have true affordable access to healthcare based on income or pre existing conditions. 5% of us population just like Switzerland and Germany who have single payer.

3. You can have a limited public option (not a blank check public option the Dems proposed that could grow like a virus and eat the US budget). Have a limited public option for the 15 million who don't have access.

Liberal ideology vs actual execution of public policy are two different situations. I've love to give everyone affordable housing, food etc. it just doesn't work when you got 330 million citizens and residents to deal with. There will be some who will fall through the cracks.

Look at china and India and Brazil. Similar large countries. They can't provide half the access of care as the US does.

You must take the size of the US population in to account.
