Boehner completely forgets that part of the reason he was gave power in 2010 was to balance the budget. This is typical of politicians. They are more concerned with what they feel is best for themselves, not who voted for them.

I feel pretty certain that John Boehner was not "gave" anything at all.
I'm diggin' the Boehner right now. Was beginning to wonder where the boozer had wandered off to. And no, I'm not picking on his boozing habits, as I tend to booze up myself.
The {R} party needs new leadership, the bill is a turd sandwich. Like the guy said in the article how are conservatives going to go back to their district and explain support?
Yeah, I said after the last budget fight that the TP folks were going to be in trouble and that Cruz was going to be a lame duck for the next 5 years. The GOP leadership gave in to the TP folks during the last government budget fight and the result was a government shutdown and a PR disaster for the GOP. After that bruising, the rank and file GOP are not likely to listen to TP arguments again anytime soon. Worse still, business soured on the TP so that source of funding is not only likely to dry up for TP candidates, but business donators are likely to actively fund other GOP challengers to TP candidates rather than actively supporting the TP (as was previously the case).
The TP wave has crested and Boehner knows it - and the days of the GOP leadership running scared from the TP is over for good. Next election we're likely to see a decrease in the number of TP officeholders (as we saw in the last election).

It's simple. A budget battle now would be seized upon by the liberals to divert attention away from the disaster that is Obamacare. By going along with this budget, which is admittedly bad, the Republicans are removing the ammunition from the liberals' guns. No more Party of No, no more whining about obstructionists, no more blaming the Republicans for holding the economy hostage. The Democrats get nothing to bludgeon the GOP with, and the focus goes right back to Obamacare.
Boehner's future within his own party is going to end badly for him soon.
The Republican's need new blood, not a has been of the past to lead them forward.
I agree. His public appearances look phoned in. I have wondered if the man isn't just plain tired of treadmill that has become the Republican party in the last decade and a half. There is definitely a need for people in the party whose sights are raised higher than a microphone in Washington, DC.
