They may not care about marriage laws in Australia, but they do care about them here.
Sanity is allowing Americans to exercise the right to marry whoever they want so long as both parties are over the age of 18, of sound mind and judgment, and are willing and able to sigh a marriage contract.
To deny that is insanity and goes against what our Forefathers wanted for this country - Americans freed.
As a Australian how have news for you, yes we can, and yes gay marriage will end up legal in Aus.
Why? Just go for a civil union and be done with it. Why the hell are some so hell bound on pretending to be something you arent? Why destroy the meaning of one thing simply because youre odd balls and not the same?
Good for Australia. I hope they're better at withstanding the wrath of homos and liberals than America has been. I think in time they will be forced to give in, unfortunately. When the rabid left wants something, they're willing to do nearly anything to get it, and they are relentless.

I never realized that Americans being able to exercise the rights, freedoms, and liberties they are entitled to and protected under the 14th Amendment constituted "dark times".

If the U$ adopted Australia's Health Care system, strict gun laws and $15 per hour min wage, would you cons STILL be praising Australia?????? I do agree though, I love it in Oz and think it is far superior to America so yeah Way to go Australia!!
I don't understand why some of my fellow Republicans are against gay marriage here or abroad. Gay adults are entitled, under our constitution, to the same legalrights and benefits under the marriage laws as straight citizens.
They already have same legal rights as anyone else.

2. The high court simply applied the law that marriage is federal law, states (& subsequently territories - as in the Australian Capital Territory ) can not amend this law. This was not overturned on religious grounds.

Look, all I know is that you put two men in a room together for the rest of their lives, or two women, and the can do the most twisted, disgusting things you can imagine to each other. But they would never be able to create life. Lesson? Quit pretending to be something you arent. Gay couples are not the same, never will be the same. You arent normal, accept it. There absolutely is a difference between man/woman and whatever weird coupling you can come up with.One has had a key purposeful ability since the beginning of time, the other hasnt and never will.
Women can have kids and men can't, so what? We are not here just to give birth. And there have been gays from the beginning of time.
Australia was partially founded by a bunch of criminals.
Aside from having broken the law, criminals tend to be a rather moral lot.
