Chinese Naval Vessel Tries to Force U.S. Warship to Stop in International Waters | Washington Free Beacon

This is very serious and should have been the major news story of the day and week. While operating in recognized International waters, the Chinese Navy attempted to stop a US Navy war ship, even going so far as to try to block it's path causing the ship to quickly evade the ship instead of stopping or colliding with the Chinese ship blocking it's path.

It's not that simple. Even if they fired their missiles at the ship blocking their path, it would not have blown apart and sunk right away. Also, doing so could have been an act of war and an act of suicide by the ship's captain since there were other Chinese Navy ships in the area including a carrier. Many sailors on the ship would have lost their lives. Sure, with their armament, they would have given as much as they were taking, but that wasn't worth the lost of lives and starting a war. Performing the dangerous maneuver and escaping the area was the right decision. With ship's communication systems, they probably sent the call out to the nearest carrier group and could have had fighter jets in the area in a matter of minutes. In those minutes, many of the ship's crew could have been killed and the ship damaged to the point of being scuttled.

Maybe an act of war against China is necessary? China is in severe need of a correction....or else they will continue to feel like they can harrass us without retribution. Why should we allow that?

I don't advocate starting a war with China. I do feel that we should stop doing business with that country.

This happened Dec 5. It was a non-story then, just as it is now.
