Parents, wake up. Stop telling little Billy and Susie lies.

Stop saying their is a real man named Santa.

Tell them the truth. That he is not real, but it's a tradition from long ago.

Do not tell them that we live in a free country. Do not tell them that only bad guys go to jail. Do not tell them that they can be anything they want.

Do not lie to your kids for they shall lie to you in return.

Do not let them watch Disney movies, ever. Nothing like bringing Depression on kids like Disney movies. Once they realize that they will never be happy like Cinderella, Mermaid, Aladdin, or Shrek.

Talk to your kids like they are adults. Don't baby talk your kids. Ever.

Respect them as a human being. Just because you "created" them does not mean you own them. To claim ownership over another human is called slavery. Why treat your kids like slaves?

Don't insult their intelligence and curiosity by limiting their access to knowledge and limiting their ability to ask questions.

And whatever you do,

teach your kids more than their grade school teachers ever could.

Teach them USEFUL things.

If you don't teach them, you have no right to punish them. (and no, teaching is not saying "you can't do this or that)

Maybe if parents were honest with their kids, their kids would grow up to expect honesty out of their politicians.

With parenting like this, no wonder kids are going on anti-depressants at younger and younger ages.

Let kids be kids. Let them have wonder at the world, let them have hope for the future, let them dream. They will grow up and learn about the world, but it is our job as parents to make sure they keep the dreams later in life and the practical reality of life.

Right, I mean God forbid they have a childhood with a sense of wonder and imagination.

It's called let kids be kids. You can slowly start bringing them into the real world when they are 13

Mr. Grinch, is that you?

I sure hope you don't have kids. You will suck every happy, silly, fun and optimistic dream out of them before they can talk. What a sad little person you are.

I mean really lol. This isn't 1776, 1865, 1912, or 1943 lol. Let kids have some happy times. Unless WWIII is raging outside, then I don't see what the issue is. What OP is engaging in is indoctrination. No doubt he probably disapproves of that in schools, hypocrite much?
