LOL

Sink Christie?

Now that's a real knee slapper there!

I haven't read through all of the posts yet but I am sure you posted a retraction to this post.

Actually your post is nothing but deflection. If Christie was not aware of the dangerous traffic problems occurring in his state for a week long, Christie is not qualified to be in a position that is responsible for the safety and welfare of his state.

Who cares? Common sense would tell you that a traffic backup of this magnitude would be a huge safety issue and logistical issue to the public.

The closures didn't just affect people trying to get on the bridge, said Keylin, 45, a computer engineer. It entangled residents who wanted to go to grocery stores, gas stations or museums in the borough.

The traffic also slowed an eventually successful police search for a missing 4-year-old, doubled emergency service response times and caused some to walk or drive on sidewalks to get to places.

Paul Favia, Fort Lee's EMS coordinator, became so worried that he wrote a letter to Sokolich detailing several "unnecessary delays for emergency services." Among them was a delay just prior to the death of a 91-year-old woman.

On Sept. 9, officials got a call that the elderly woman was unconscious. The EMS crew took seven minutes to respond and because of "heavy traffic" paramedics had to meet the ambulance on the way to the hospital. The woman later went into cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Fort Lee traffic jam caused human debacle

I have no doubt that Christie knew and endorsed this. I am sure Christie made only verbal comments to his staff so there would be no paper trail. However, the people who took the fall for Christie no longer have anything to lose. They may be singing like a canary in a court hearing soon.

You are so totally correct, we need Obama to go for the same reason, not being aware of the ACA's massive derrogatory effects on middle America.

This story did not get the attention that it deserved at the time. Christie has managed to maintain this facade of the straight talker, which is really just an indignant guy with a big mouth. Some people are impressed with that, but the way he confronts his own constituents that ask him questions he does not like is repulsive and revealing of how much of a thin skinned bully he actually is. And the fact is, he's not really that great a governor...

A great Maureen Dowd quote that pretty much says it all:

"After zapping Obama for being so clueless that he couldn’t find “the light switch of leadership” in a dark room, Christie is trying to salvage his once blazing career by claiming he was in a dark room, clueless to the bogus traffic study masking a revenge plan that top aides were executing in plain sight."

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/12/op...nder-road.html

Now take that one step further, to the press conference on December 9th, three full months after the lane closures, when Christie was asked about it yet again and he gave his now famous response:

"I was in overalls and a hat. I moved the cones, actually unbeknownst to everybody."

For him to claim he was unaware of even the appearance of scandalous actions within his administration when he so blatantly mocked reporters for asking the questions is absurd. So it follows that after four months of the press questioning him about it, either Christie was actually in a very well lit room with a very clear picture of what was going on, whether he orchestrated the scheme or not; or he stayed in that dark room deliberately, never once even attempting to locate the light switch, so he later could claim he was completely unaware the whole time.

Neither scenario showcases anything but a sorry excuse of "leadership."
