The most wasteful spend is coming from the defense budget and it is exposed in this video. Welfare Medicaid
Medicare do not even compare to the wasteful spending with the defense budget. I bet if we cut the $700billion defense budget by 40% to 50% we would not be effected one bit by the cut.

You're free to disagree with Maddow, but it doesn't seem quite right to call her an "idiot" or to suggest she has no authority -- after all, she has a doctorate in politics from Oxford (look it up -- I just did).
Tempest, military spending is only 20-22% of the total budget. No way is it almost 57%. Where did you get that made-up chart from?
The only mention I could fine of 58% is an article about the US spending 5% of the total defense dollars paid out by the world's top 10 military powers. The only graph I could find says the US spends 2.5% of GDP.
She's absoutly correct that the military is by far the biggest pork barreled spending the nation has. It's the perfect example of how the GOP really doesn't care about the budget as they want to gut the crap out of medicare and education, while expanding spending on something that needs it the least.
Even if this fanciful chart WERE true (which is it not), the Dems have proven that they put criminal parasites over men and women that are willing to sacrifice their lives for our freedoms. Nothing more disgusting than that.
