I KNOW IT WONT HAPPEN BUT I WISH THIS TO BE A THINK TANK, OF BOTH CONSERVATIVE AND LIBERAL IDEAS. IF THERE WAS NO CHOICE BUT TO COMPLETELY REFORM... IN OTHER WORDS REVOLT OR TAKE BACK CONTROL, HOW WOULD YOU SEE IT DONE AMD WHERE WOULD YOU GO FROM THERE.

"The Greeks by their laws, and the Romans by the spirit of their people, took care to put into the hands of their rulers no such engine of oppression as a standing army. Their system was to make every man a soldier, and oblige him to repair to the standard of his country whenever that was reared. This made them invincible and the same remedy will make us so."

- Thomas Jefferson

What are your thoughts on this quote, both peaceable, democratic, and revolutionary.
If a drastic change was needed, which many would agree is needed, how would you see it done?

I don't see any political reform on the horizon nor do I think it's needed. That's why we have elections. We currently have a very politically polarizing president running the country and the country will remain polarized until the voters choose a more moderate president. Any "reform" will be seen as capitulation and the country is angry enough right now. BTW, I like Ted Cruz but don't want to see him as president. He'll be just as polarizing in the other direction.

We're in far worse shape than the times when the founders revolted against the king.

It's long past time not to reform, but completely revolt, and put our government back in the boundaries the founders set for it, rather than this tyrannical monster it has become.

The trouble with Jeffersons and other founding fathers on a standing army were based off giving everyone a single shot rifle. Now we have nuclear weapons. Slightly different world.

Our political system is fine. Congress has a 80% incumbent return date. People should quit telling other districts and states what to do with their representative, and worry about their own

IF those civilizations were invincible, where are they now?

The destruction of the two entrenched major parties would be a good place to start. I believe they've reached the point where they realize getting people to point fingers at the 'other guys' allows them to continue their own malfeasance unimpeded.

The Greeks shrugged.

The Romans were obsessed with the metric system (something they liked to call their own), which inescapably made them all socialists.

XIX my ass.

They finally fell to affluenza.

Then came the dregs.

Then came the plagues.

The rats got it from the dregs, and gave it back to just about everyone.

Roman roads - It pervaded quickly.
