Political Correctness is just the Thought Police disguising themselves as Miss Manners.

Politeness is manners, PC is a falsehood to promote a lockstep think.

You likely view that statement as jumping to conclusion and being unfair. That's because I took yours and replaced it with conservative instead of liberal. Not all liberal think the same. Suggesting they do fits you in with the general statement made above; a close minded bigot.

Political correctness isn't a bad thing. Your not wrong in saying it's worried about too much, but there is a level of political correctness that corresponds with simple decency and politeness.
You only call conservatives bigots because we don't think like you do. For example conservatives answer Merry Christmas instead of Happy Holidays to a greeting during that season. Liberals start screeching get religion out of the workplace school, etc.

Political correctness is an abomination which needs to die a slow and painful death.

Sure, it is more common on the left, but it is not equal to socialist at all. I think it more about terminology or groupthink from universities. A few examples include:
1. Race is a social construct.
This one, as far as the ever-shifting US definition goes, is correct. That's not "political correctness", that's noticing the differences between biology and social definitions. Irish and Italian used to be perceived as different races, and Southern whites used to perceive themselves as a different "race" than northern Whites.

2. Men and women are completely equal.
People don't appear to be saying that.

3. Poor people are victims of a racist and prejudicial system.
Actually, nobody appears to be saying that, either - although people can rather easily trace the racial disparity in wealth to discrimination, easily. Again, that's not "political correctness", so much as "studying history".

Now, let's talk about some things that *really* send people into a huff. As one example, the word "racist". This word applies to people who, in essence, judge people as inferior, based on their skin color. Examples include insisting that black people are "lazy" and vote for democrats because "they love welfare". Now, anyone who has actually spent time in a typical black neighborhood will find this laughable - black people tend to be fiercely angry towards anyone working-age person who doesn't have a job, for example. But thanks to long-standing stereotypes, many people, most often conservatives (such as the Duck Dynasty" guy) still believe it - but they'll howl like a hit dog when you point out their obvious racism.

No, conservatives usually get called bigots when they say bigoted things, such as "black people hate to work and love welfare", or "gay people all like to rape children".

And actually, I don't know of too many people who get mad at "Merry Christmas", but I can think of and entire conservative network that has spent years whining about people saying "Happy Holidays", that being Fox News. Although, they also use the latter phrase themselves, so...

political correctness means you can't call a teabagger a teabagger, you have to call them a tea partier

A person or group of people is so insecure that they must silence anyone that doesn't agree with their imagined self image.
Instead of a rant, why not tell us about these long term consequences you're warning us about.

PC is the first step to silencing those who don't agree with what the authoritarians think is what they should believe. The duckman is the perfect example. He said things the "PC" crowd.......or liberals........didn't like so they castigate him and try and destroy him. PC is the first step toward eliminating free speech in this country. Most liberals think its perfectly fine or funny to destroy him or to try and shut him up.

Did you folks know that guy was the starting QB at LA Tech in front of Terry Bradshaw for two years? I saw that today. He decided to quit because he figured Bradshaw wanted to play football and he just wanted to hunt. Little trivia question.

who needs to be called out and what are these truths you speak of?
