Who in their right mind would live in that Totalitarian city?. Spare me the drama, this is just stupid. I see they have been doing this since 2008. 2008? It seems that 2008 ushered in a boatload of heavy handedness right along with Obama.
They live there because it's BETTER than where YOU live, that's why.

It's a local area making a decision based on what they deem to be their own needs. Why would right wingers have a problem with that? Is it coming from Washington?

You guys are always talking about how the states and locals should control their areas and not the feds. Well, that's what they're doing, and you're still crying.

i love a thread that bashes boystown and it politics as much as the next person but you flatlanders back east dont understand what its like here. you can pollute all you want and it just gets carried away because there are no mountains to trap your pollution, and no wildfires making it even worse.

Those so called "flatlanders" back east that you're referring to have mountains too...they just don't give a damn if their air or water is polluted...mountains or no mountains.

Wood burning ban-days are very common here in SLC area in the winter. We've already had a bunch this season. And this is good. Our air gets very, very unhealthy in the winter inversions.

When you live in a densely populated area everyone can't just do what ever they want. Wood burning (and burning leaves) really does add a lot of pollution in the to the air and when there is a thermal inversion the pollution gets trapped close to the surface. This does result in people dying so it is only prudent to take measures until the thermal inversion passes.
