Default Liberty Lost

NSA whistleblower and great American patriot Edward Snowden has shown us how vast and unchecked the Orwellian Surveillance State has become, and the courageous journalist Glenn Greenwald demonstrates how the U.S. media has been co-opted by a government that no longer answers to the people.

Why do you support our government violating our 4th Amendment rights? Unless of course you feel that our government can do no wrong, or act in a corrupt manner.

Not the point. And when you give the government that much power there is a chance they can find something on you, or set you up. I'm sure all of those political prisoners in those East German prisons back in the day were all evil terrorists. Sorry, but I don't want to live in a Stasi-like police state! Time to vote out all of these SOBs on the both sides of the aisle that support this crap!

The PATRIOT Act and the Constitution: Five Key Points

Federal judge: NSA phone surveillance legal

in other words:

if you want privacy, don't do business with any third parties, especially not any telecommunications providers, banks, doctors, hospitals, or airlines.

It's business, big business, highly profitable. I said before that more will be coming out. I expect this to continue. The article I posted, doesn't even discuss the nastiest tech that he has to rush through at the end.

This is not just govt, many, many in so-called private sector and yes digital works both ways.

Think of how easy it is to set someone up, for say child pornography. A simple virus and lives are ruined.

In this interview the renowned William Binney explains why NSA surveillance is neither legal nor Constitutional. In fact, when he learned what the NSA was doing he resigned in protest and then eventually the FBI came after him at gun point.

It was fun watching the guests on the Sunday morning talk shows discuss the legality, or lack thereof, of the NSA's bulk collection programs like PRISM. It cemented in my mind the fact that Rep. Peter King of NY is nothing more than a fear mongering shill for the Surveillance State. Surprisingly, I found myself much more inclined to agree with the perspective of Kentucky Senator Rand Paul who is going as far as to call for the prosecution of Director of National Intelligence James Clapper for perjury.
