I actually like Maddow, Chuck Todd, and the guy with glasses, but I make it a point not to watch 24hr news channels because the partisan talk that goes on with those channels is a bit mind numbing.

MSNBC is as bad as FOX. They are both in existence to be politically polarizing propaganda.

The big difference is that MSNBC promotes a progressive liberal agenda versus conservative ideas while FOX promotes the Republican party versus the Democrats, so they are actually not polar opposites.

Nope, Fox is overall more of a news channel and this has been shown by analysis mentioned here before.

Fox is a "news channel." It is basically a political opinion fluff channel that tries to pretend it is news. Actually if you look at the portion of Fox News that could classify as news, you would realize it is about as much time as the evening news gets on your local channels.

I don't think all that many educated, sensible people like the sneering, perpetually sarcastic "gotcha" Frat Boy type of discourse. Those that do, tend to lean right (not exclusively, but generally). It is embarrassing to have propaganda parading as news. I think it would be fine if people listened equally to left and right leaning outlets and thought for themselves, but I don't think that is the way more of the loyal audience rolls, nor is that the business model of such outlets.

If you want serious news in the US, tune in to BBC America, Al Jazeera, NPR, etc. You're wasting your time with MSNBC or FOX.

X2, the morning and afternoon shows are nothing but news, it's just the talking head evening shows which are more opinion.

Even the Koch brothers admitted it was an entertainment channel, not a news channel. Something about tax breaks if I remember correctly.

Even their news is highly slanted and Obama bash filled.....just in a more respectful? Way. Less obvious.
