We should be more careful when we pick our "friends". In My Unhumble Oponion the Saudi's are the last vestage of desert barbarism and should be ostracised from the world community despite thier oil production. Or just have thier culture crushed. I would suggest unlimited refugee status for all Saudi women. The men can stay behind and molest the camels.

I have no truce with Kings!

People are being so judgenebtal of different cultures.

Who are we to judge them?

No one culture is 'better' than another.

How is Saudi culture different from Iranian?
Or honor killings which are quite prevalent even among westernised Muslims?

All of the above examples are immoral-----and, a probable slap at the Holy Koran as well.

Maybe an example needs to be made out of Saudi that such behavior is not acceptable to be a part of the civilized world.

As for the so-called 'Westernized' Muslims committing such crimes-------they need to be punished------severely.

Cultural differences,blah blah blah....

Sorry if I didn't come across clearly, I was actually pointing out the typically leftist response to people criticising other cultures for their barbaric behavior.

This is classic conservatism. Another reason I don't vote to go back to 1800's America or go to those extremist churches.

Which only brings to mind the old standard: With friends like that who needs enemies?

The USSR was our allies in WWII.

Prior to Operation Barbarossa the USSR was allied with Nazi Germany.

The Colonies fought a war with France alongside Great Britain(French and Indian War), not that long afterwards France allied itself with the Colonists against Great Britain and a few short years after that there was open conflict with France.

The one connection?

It is all the fault of Bush!!!

It is disgusting to see such injustice represented as though it is justice. Disgusting that there is such a well-financed, high-profile and economically supported but yet still completely backwards & sexist culture & government in existence today. Yes, I'll call it out for what it is and who am I?, I'm a typical intelligent person who sees the oppression of women as something that should be ancient history. Just as when slavery existed in South Africa people outside of the country had the right to say it was wrong, intelligent people today can do the same about oppression of women!

Lastly, this whole topic is disgusting because over the last 50 years that country has been allowed to gain a stranglehold economically on not only the US but on most developed nations of the world (any which need oil). There's literally nothing that can be done in response to such blatant examples of backwards thinking and injustice because they have so much control over our government and corporations (they finance both and have a ton of money in our stock markets) that we won't dare to upset them. We're not going to go to war with them, we're not going to impose sanctions, we're not going to do anything except perhaps pay lip service.

What will happen at the end of the day?... probably nothing. This story will get swept under the rug, the system of law in Saudi Arabia will continue to be obfuscated to avoid similar type of embarrassment in the future, Hillary Clinton will use her "outrage" to appeal to female voters in the US, and we'll all go on with our lives continuing to pay more and more for gasoline and wondering why alternative fuels aren't fully deployed yet.
