Their society and laws are based on Islamic teachings... I am not one to judge other countries laws that the majority of the populace accepts... if that is a crime and teacher broke it...its no excuse to be ignorant...

I remember saying to the officer... I didn't know the speed limit was 35... I thought it was 45... he still wrote me a ticket..

You go to another country. You know that it is a gov based on radical islamic teachings. We all know how the muslems have reacted in the past to anything but glowing references to their beliefs. For a teacher I would say that she is pretty dumb. No I don't think that she deserves 40 lashes or jail time. But the call isn't mine, and she violated what most today understand is a known taboo to the islamics.

Yet; the Janjaweed is allowed by the Sudanese government to rape and kill Black Sudanese people who also happen to be Muslim-------that sounds to me it would be an offence against Islam as well.

Hypocrites.

I saw this story and then saw another one on 20/20 where a boy whose Father lives in UAE (United Arab Emirates) was kidnapped and raped at knifepoint. The police accused him of indulging in homosexual activity which the boy denies. He was threatened with jail because homosexuality is against the law. The French embassy recommended the flee the country (His Mom was French) which they did.

Any country that believes in punishing the rape victim as Muslim countries do, are way out of control.

Most modern Christians are rather secular compared to what passed for 'Christianity' prior to the Reformation.
