Put simply. A man can legally marry a woman. That is something I am banned from doing in my state. THAT is discrimination based on the gender of the people entering into marriage.

i think you have no clue what is the 14th amendment.

Example: States have tax credits and help for the poor and business that means they are discriminating on me because according to the law I don't qualify?

does affirmative action violates the 14th amendment also?

should the 14th amendment be use for equal pay and socialism?

Trees cannot consent to any kind of relationship. Trees are not even conscious.

Do you not understand that if a state can show how denial to a specific group will further a compelling state interest then they can deny that group marriage. So far no one has been able to show how denying same sex couples marriage furthers a state interest.

Want to give it a go?

As for a man and a tree, show me a tree that can sign a marriage license and we'll talk. Stupid example is stupid. The possibilities aren't endless.

kids can sign a marriage license too ....does the 14th amendment applies to them too or children have no rights.

how about polygamy, are they protected under the 14th amendment too?

people are clueless what the 14th amendment means....they want to apply to their social agenda.

In what parallel dimension can a "kid" sign a marriage license?

Children can not sign any legally binding contract. That is basic contract law.

Why don't you read the Federalist Paper's? It makes it quite clear that limiting the federal government was a prime purpose of the U.S. Constitution.

Then go read the constution itself and you will find that this is true.

Radio didn't exist in the late 18th century, so your last comment makes no sense.
