Yes. Good point.
Deceptively amazingly beautiful and "angelic."
And deceptively convincing, conniving.

Personally, I'm holding out hope for the Flying Spaghetti Monster. May they erect a statue that forever glorifies his great noodly appendage.

A statue of Baphomet, I see.

I don't consider myself religious but I do think this is getting ridiculous and I hope that they do not allow this to be erected. Hopefully they just take down the 10 commandments monument and let that be the end of it. No monuments.

A pretty well researched summary of Baphomet:
Quote:
Baphomet is an enigmatic, goat-headed figure found in several instance in the history of occultism. From the Knights Templar of the Middle-Ages and the Freemasons of the 19th century to modern currents of occultism, Baphomet never fails to create controversy. But where does Baphomet originate from and, most importantly, what is the true meaning of this symbolic figure? This article looks at the origins of Baphomet, the esoteric meaning of Baphomet and its occurrence in popular culture.

The courts have ruled in the past that you can't just make up a religion and get it accepted with established religions. So there will not most likely be any spaghetti monsters. As for some of the others, approve them, they have as much of a right as anyone.

Not me. I'm hoping that their capitol grounds end up littered with monuments to every deity and representing every religion known to man. Let's show the fundamentalists what freedom of religion really looks like.

Hahahahaha... This is some next level trolling. They made a statue where people can sit on Satan's lap!

Your consideration of him, then, is not accurate.
