They ALWAYS do when they realize their organization is a failure and can't do anything to stop anything.
Why is it always up to the UN or the world to step up when third world craphole nations want to destroy themselves? Why is it always up to us to repair things and clean up their mess?
I think its better to simply let them fight it out and let nature takes it course as it were. If they want to tear their countries down, kill everyone and bring their nations back to the stone ages, then let them. If the combatants are ever tired of the fighting and truly want peace THEN the UN should come in and help faciliate that, otherwise just sit backc and let them kill or not kill as they wish.
It shouldn't be up to the UN or anyone else to be forced to try and put out all the fires in the world when that's clearly an impossible task and frequently it ends in failure anyways. I'm just so tired of constantly having to waste money, resources and energy on certain nations that will never improve. We should just let them sink or swim on their own if they can't stop fighting.
I think we have enough of our own issues to concern ourselves with. Our UN contribution is a waste of our tax dollars and even 1 nickel wasted on Syria is money poorly spent. Let the Syrians deal with it, let syria's neighbors deal with Syria.
No, it wants to cover up the fact that there was no genocide.

It is not now, nor was it ever the function of the UN to prevent wars or conflicts.
