Hear in this Palestinian's own words how it was the Jordanian military who told him and others to leave their homes (meaning the Palestinian refugee problem was caused by the neighboring Arab nations rather than Israel): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iR5nDFhBL0
There's been a million different versions of what happened, and I don't believe any stories at this point. Israel has a version (favorable to them), and ditto for the Palestinians (same crap).
The bottom line is that three quarters of a million Palestinians left their HOMES, and weren't allowed to return to their HOMES. I don't care why they left and what the story is. Your home and your village are just that, and you have every right to return to them.
So at this point, I don't wanna hear anymore versions of the story...it's unimportant.

And nearly a million Jews were evicted from their homes in Arab countries for whatever reason. So lets just say they traded places.

Using this logic the whole entire problem this becomes Britain's fault.
Which in a lot of ways is true, but also pointless.
The only foreseeable way to peach is a two state solution. Thanks to entitled people on both sides, however, even this is rendered impossible.
And no...they didn't trade places. They weren't evicted from those places by Palestinian Arabs. That's not their problem.
And if that's your justification, then the Palestinians have every right to launch terrorist attacks.
So according to you there were Jews in Gaza and the West Bank from 1948 - 1967. And for your justification then Israelis have every right to get back their lands in those territories.

It is probably a mix of both. I imagine some Arabs left on the orders of Arab armies thinking they would be able to return later on the other hand some were clearly intimidated (Jaffa) and others were straight up forced out by Israelis as in Lydda (Lod) and Ramla for strategic/political reasons.

I am pretty sure Israel doesn't want Gaza back and them keeping the West Bank is dangerous as well but slightly more difficult. Basically Israel dumped Gaza because they didn't want a South Africa type situation going on in a few decades and there weren't that many Israel Jews there.

Yes, the British did cause a major mess in the region and when they couldn't handle the mess they left after handing the problem to the UN who decided on a 2 state solution which the Arabs refused to accept at that time.

What about the Jews that were murdered in Hebron in the West Bank in 1929? Does this justify Israelis get control of the lands there?
