Around 5 p.m. on Election Day 2012, Fox News chief Roger Ailes realized that Mitt Romney would not make it to the White House. "Thank you, Chris Christie," Ailes groused. Ailes was frustrated that the New Jersey governor appeared alongside President Barack Obama days earlier to survey the damage of Hurricane Sandy. When Ailes was told polling data suggested the incident hadn't hurt the Republican Party's chances, he responded: "Well, hugging the guy couldn't help people feel good about Romney, either."
This wasn't how the race was supposed to end. During an afternoon meeting before the 2010 midterm elections, Ailes told executives he wanted "to elect the next president."

Interesting read. You have the President of FOX News openly revealing that he is rooting for Republicans. And still, you have people who don't think FOX News has a bias. Man, there are some shockingly ignorant people in America.
This is ridiculous. All the other channels have an extreme Democrat bias. And with them, it is so bad they have become like the Pravda of the former Soviet Union! You can't believe anything that comes from them.

The main stream media identifies itself overwhelmingly as liberal, that's from a Pew study. If you don't think that plays a factor in their coverage you're being naive.

Also from Pew was another study that examined the news coverage from 2008 and not only did Obama get more coverage than McCain but those news stories were more likely to be positive.

Fox News certainly has a right slant but nearly every other major media outlet in his country leans to the left. You'd have to be blind not to see it.

This is from 2004 but I think it's safe to say the landscape has not changed.

IV. Values and the Press | Pew Research Center for the People and the Press

About a third of national journalists (34%) and somewhat fewer local journalists (23%) describe themselves as liberals; that compares with 19% of the public in a May survey conducted by the Pew Research Center. Moreover, there is a relatively small number of conservatives at national and local news organizations. Just 7% of national news people and 12% of local journalists describe themselves as conservatives, compared with a third of all Americans.
I would suggest that many of these self described moderates are more likely Liberal. If you don't think this overwhelming amount of liberals isn't going to play factor in the slant of news coverage then you're being naive or dishonest.

Roughly two-thirds of self-described conservatives (68%) could identify a specific news organization that is especially liberal, and the same number (68%) could name a news organization that is “especially conservative.” But moderates and liberals could identify conservative news organizations far more often than liberal ones. Roughly three-quarters of liberals (74%) and a majority of moderates (56%) say they couldn’t think of any news organization that is especially liberal.
Who is being honest? LOL

News Coverage Conveys Strong Momentum for Same-Sex Marriage | Pew Research Center's Journalism Project

Almost half (47%) of the nearly 500 stories studied from March 18 (a week prior to the Supreme Court hearings), through May 12, primarily focused on support for the measure, while 9% largely focused on opposition and 44% had a roughly equal mix of both viewpoints or were neutral. In order for a story to be classified as supporting or opposing same sex marriage, statements expressing that position had to outnumber the opposite view by at least 2-to-1. Stories that did not meet that threshold were defined as neutral or mixed.

Many of the events themselves during the period studied, such as announcements by politicians and state legislation, reflected movement towards same-sex marriage. Polls show the nation’s views have been shifting as well, though there remains significant opposition with 51% of the public in support of legalizing same-sex marriage versus 42% opposed, according to a recent Pew Research Center survey
That's recent and before someone chimes in that is what is right that argument is irrelevant especially when you have such large part of the population in opposition. If a media organization wants to have any integrity they need to report the news in a neutral an unbiased manner. The news is what it is and when you are favoring one side of the story you are no longer reporting the news but are now editorializing.

For the moment ignore the source as it's clearly a conservative one, focus on the message:

I agree. Just because most news outlets dont have an ultra-conservative outlook on the world doesn't mean they are schills for Obama. One should be able to detect a bias in a story... one direction or another...that is being part of being a truly informed news consumer.

Most of us know what our biases are but not everyone does. How can you blame someone that doesn't have that ability? I have a 5th grade spelling capability. As hard as I have tried, words are written as my brain says to. If i were to write the word becasue is comes out like that. Everytime.
