Texting in an inappropriate place does not warrant the death penalty.

Oh, I agree.

I am not anti-death penalty, but I certainly do not support it for people who use their phone in a movie theater.

I am so sick and tired of cells phones. We never needed them before so why do we need them now. With that said no one should be shot because of using one. But I've been in theaters where someone is texting or talking and it disrupts the movie for everyone else....just take it outside and there would be no problem

It's the good ol US of A where our national past time is shooting people at the movies and where we protect the right to carry guns more than we protect the rights of people to not get shot while simply walking around in public.

Good. I hope that it serves as a reminder that theaters are not the places to be texting. If only the loud idiots at the library could be be shot, it would just make my day.

If people really need to text, be curteous and dim the screen, turn the clicking noises off and or walk out.
But some people are just no brought up to be polite, and this guy paid for it. He could have let it go, stopped texting. But he didnt have to escalate the problem when the guy returned.
If I was the LEO or citizen that went to the manager, I would have not returned without the manager or just asked for a refund.
On the other hand, if I had no gun and the guy threw something at me in the dark, DARK theatre, I would have kicked his ass. Not shot him, just kicked his ass.
