West Hollywood city council voted to remove the rainflow hung at city hall last June 2013 and I am more than ok with it.

I agree with this decision IMO the only flags that should be flown on a government building in proper order of city flag, United States flag, and state flag.
Rainbow flag is welcome to be carried by individuals but shouldnt be on a government building.
I caught a little slack on FB for my reason but I agree with city council that the city (government should represent everyone)
Also the rainbow flag shouldn't be politicized with addition what stopping a flag for Westboro Church from wanting a flag hung. Goverments should be about inclusions.

If a city wants to hang flag banners from light poles, similar cities do when a festival occurs or paint a street rainbow crossing that ok if it used for tourism.

I agree with this decision too. And I read the linked article and can only say that if the GLBT community needs a rainbow flag to be flown to feel they are empowered then they are kidding themselves anyway. Weho isn't going to stay the same (ie: gay mecca) forever and that's fine. Gay folks can live anywhere. We don't create hubs or enclaves for "types" of people and disallow changes.
