That industry is the most heavily taxed industry in the US. They are also hiring and putting to work the most people. Why don't you want people to have jobs?

I'm sure if the government of China or some third world dictatorship, was aware of some replacement to end the smog in their cities, and make them wealthy, nothing would prevent them from stealing it, reverse engineering it, or simply developing it on their own, then sell it to the world and make a killing.

I do not worry so much about the price, than mid-east oil being used as a political weapon. The more oil produced by friendlies, the better.
