All it takes is an unrelenting minority whining about so called rights to make something a "right". Homosexuality is not a right its a mental disease that needs to be treated not treated like its normal but treated with therapy or medicine ANYTHING.
Equal protection under US law for all citizens is not "so-called." You are not a true American if you wish to deny people such protection.
And in case you didn't notice, no one has ever proved that you can "cure" gayness. Everyone who's tried has given up and in most cases apologized for being frauds and/or tormenting gays with their "cures."
In any case, why would you deny equal protection under the law to anyone suffering from a mental illness or physical disease? What's wrong with you?
The benefits the homosexual community is for homosexuality to be defended as normal.. it isn't for the benefits legislated for rights as you put it.. You want moral acceptance . It is not normal even if most people accept it as normal. It isn't. One cannot drown out the Holy Spirit of truth. It stands forever.

Once again, separate but equal has never worked when it comes to our laws. Civil unions have been proven to not be equal in states that have tried it. The federal government has already said that they will not recognize anything but civil marriage for federal protections, so in what world would civil unions be considered equal protection of the laws?
Are you smoking crack? There is absolutely no reason to believe that marriages and civil unions can't be treated exactly the same under the law. A change of a word doesn't mean anything from a legal point-of-view. The word change is merely for social reasons. Most other countries which allow same-sex partnerships, are Civil Unions, not marriages.
As I said, if this was just about rights, Civil Unions work perfectly well. The desire for marriage is for social reasons, not legal reasons. Gays in Civil Unions feel like their union isn't regarded by others as being equal to a marriage, because it isn't called a marriage. Regardless of the fact that the government treats them both exactly the same.
But regardless, I don't think the government should even be in the marriage business. The government should only be in the business of enforcing contracts. Thus, all marriages should be Civil Unions, and marriage should be something else.
You have to understand my main problem with the "homosexual agenda". It really isn't about real rights. It is about normalizing homosexuality.
Look, if it was just about rights, then Civil Unions would be what they are fighting for. But the reality is that, they want marriage. Because Civil Unions aren't good enough for them. It isn't about whether or not Suzy can visit Sally in the hospital. It is about them wanting to feel like homosexual marriages are somehow exactly the same as a heterosexual marriages.
