But open thing was for sure- he was a better actor than anyone ever gave him credit for. I'm sure we'll never see the likes of him again.

The thing is that Reagan was an actor who became a politician. Now we have a politician who has become an actor.

Thanks, Surfman, for remembering a brilliant, timeless speech--and bringing it to our attention again. I notice the detractors are only able to quibble and fuss about the speaker, without dealing with the fundamentals of the speech.

There's nothing they can say to detract from his words, so they'll attack the man.

I guess the truth, to them, is only the truth when it comes from a person who fits in their teeny-tiny box.

Obama was never a product of the ghetto, unlike Dr. Ben Carson, who was raised by his single mom in Detroit. However, these same people who decry that Reagan was never poor, will also berate Carson for his common sense philosophy, while placing Obama on a pedestal for his fairytale ideology. Their moral and intellectual compass has a polarity problem.
