Don't dictators always rise up when a country has a dysfunctional government? At this point some sort of revolution seems inevitable if we're to maintain any semblance of democracy.

Did you ?

So you are in favor of rule by EO then ?

Both Clinton and Bush had years where Congress was against everything they wanted.
But there was no rule by EO by either of them.

Obama talks about amnesty, raising min wage, more environmental regulations and gay rights.
EO's are not for that purpose.
You know...it doesn't matter to them. They could care less along with all of Obama and his adminstration about being bi-partisan and listening to the other side of the country. It's all "let me shove this down your throat and you'll like it" mentality. Nice job guys! Something to be proud of in a leader.

I've given up arguing because it just doesn't make a difference.

Another lie pushed by the right. He was never a "guest lecturer" and the title he did hold of "Senior lecturer" is a professor's position. Here is what the University of Chicago says on their web site:

Quote:
Statement Regarding Barack Obama

The Law School has received many media requests about Barack Obama, especially about his status as "Senior Lecturer."

From 1992 until his election to the U.S. Senate in 2004, Barack Obama served as a professor in the Law School. He was a Lecturer from 1992 to 1996. He was a Senior Lecturer from 1996 to 2004, during which time he taught three courses per year. Senior Lecturers are considered to be members of the Law School faculty and are regarded as professors, although not full-time or tenure-track. The title of Senior Lecturer is distinct from the title of Lecturer, which signifies adjunct status. Like Obama, each of the Law School's Senior Lecturers has high-demand careers in politics or public service, which prevent full-time teaching. Several times during his 12 years as a professor in the Law School, Obama was invited to join the faculty in a full-time tenure-track position, but he declined.

(emphasis added)
This statement has been available to anybody smart or honest enough to look for it for more than five years.

What's your excuse?

Obama a Constitutional Law Professor?

Q: Was Barack Obama really a constitutional law professor?
A: His formal title was "senior lecturer," but the University of Chicago Law School says he "served as a professor" and was "regarded as" a professor.

If the college considered Obama to be a professor, then it is a safe claim to make when saying Obama was a constitutional law professor.

Which is a smart move for any president trying to get his party members in line to be a strong front against Republican opposition. He won't become a dictator no matter how much right wingers fear that he will.

I think we are heading towards totalitarian gvt any way the only question left is which party will be in control. Of course democracy will bring this about and the ignorant un washed masses will vote away their own freedom for security, both national and personal security. It is unfolding right before our eyes.

It does seem that is the direction we're heading. Of course, we the people could actually WAKE THE F*** up, stop letting the media think for us, and stop voting for the 2 corrupt main parties for a change and get people in there who will actually represent all of us, and not just the elitists!

There's usually some economic hardship among the people as well.

If President Obama doesn't make significant changes to the security apparatus which includes the NSA and FBI tomorrow then he's well on his way to becoming a dictator. Consider that National Security Letters (NSL's) are so repressive that allowing them makes the FBI tantamount to a East Germany's secret police the Stasi.
