THAT is what they were pulling rating from.
They compared season premier to last seasons premier numbers.

Reality shows are horrible, I don't watch any of them, much less one about some has been 80's band like ZZ Top.

'Duck Dynasty' returns to lower ratings after controversy | Inside TV | EW.com

I wonder if he lost more viewers due to his stands on gays, blacks, or marrying 15 year olds? He's an embarrassment, and just another reason I couldn't pull the lever for a conservative right now. Don't want to be associated with all that. Even if the conservative is one of the few left who aren't insane.
the show is its 5th season. the ratings have been lowering for a while who cares? i personally find it entertaining

Shows like this always have a short shelf life.
Controversy always cuts two ways; it either kills the show or gives it a boost.

Jon and Kate Plus Eight is a good example. At first, it succeeded due to the weird-o factor, then, when Jon and Kate started fighting, it was the weirdos fighting that kept the show going. After Jon split, nobody cared much about Kate Plus Eight, because those who watched it already knew all about Kate.

A&E encouraged all the Robertsons to grow their once well trimmed beards and hair long and redneck shaggy to increase the weird-o factor. Then the show's fans got to know them, and the fans didn't want controversy like the Jon and Kate crap. The show was already getting old, so the controversy just sped up the inevitable demise. This season is all it's getting.

Yeah they're hurting.

while their ratings arent hurting, the whole "Highest cable rated show of the night" comment is a farce.

Its like saying you are the tallest person in a room full of midgets.

Its mid January, there is nothing else on cable, its hiatus season.

and even if it wasnt, you are still arguing one night of ratings, why not the whole week ?

[MOD CUT/off topic]

Ratings have not been dropping, their ratings are stable. And the show may be in its 5th season, but its only been on for 2 years.

[MOD CUT]

I see promos Duck D has added a minority character this season....seems one of the DD's found a fashion student in L. A. to come back to the swap hole.

I'm not arguing anything, I take great pleasure in watching people get upset about the Duck Dynasty story and threads like this are the highlight of that pleasure.

I'm sure they only adopted a little black boy and took in an Asian girl as a foster child for ratings.
