Very True. I live in Cottonwood and keep my office at Enchantment Resort in Sedona. I recommend that everyone coming to Sedona, get a place in Cottonwood, instead of Sedona. It's only 20 minutes using 89a.
Great on 4th of July because Cottonwood is one of the few remaining towns up North with a fireworks show anymore. Flag dumped theirs.

They're so bad I can't bring myself to post the link.
Reminds me of some of the Skinhead Thrash that is all too prevalent in Arizona.
Dirty, sweaty, shirtless, drunk young men slamming into each other and a couple of morbidly obese women with enormous tramp stamps just above the exposed azz crack.
That's what grosses me out and sends me screaming for the exits.
Put up on the walls some framed portraits. Emperor Hirohito, a *** Zero, guns blazing, a proud, smiling soldier with his gun. Piles of dead bodies.........
It's bad here, but not bad enough that you can't find a seat. Usually it's the whole morning. They fan out by lunch rush.
Hey...I only get the coffee...I can't eat their food anymore as it makes me deathly sick.
As for the Shaq clone, NOTHING scares Arizona senior citizens. And I mean NOTHING! These folks are the toughest old basterdz in America. If they want their McDonald's, they're getting it come hell or high water.
It's like that here in Vegas too. Those old people will cut a b*tch if you step in front of them at the buffet line or dare to take their slot machine at the casino. If you want to see some serious cutthroat action, go play Bingo in Vegas. If you make a mistake or get confused and call bingo by accident, those old people will rip you to shreds. It happened to my friend when we went to play one night. She heard one of the calls wrong and when the moderator announced the bingo was in error, one old guy yelled "Get your goddamn*ed head in the game!!!!"
"American" multinational corporations lobby for massive immigration from poor countries so that they can pay their workers the least they possibly can. Why pay an American a decent wage when loads of immigrants are coming in and will work for much less? Thus no Americans will be paid more than minimum wage at fast food places. So now we have a McDonald's suffering because immigrants will sit there all day and drive away customers.
It is VERY SAD that these people have nothing better to do than to hang out at McDonald's. One would think that there would be other venues, but perhaps not.
Nonetheless, McDonald's is in the business of selling food, not providing a free senior center.
I have often wondered (as opposed to the midwest where we have many parks and readily accessible public land in which one can "kill time") what poor and elderly urban citizens do for entertainment. With a fixed budget, it must really suck.
The Flushing McDonalds closed in October of last year unexpectedly with no notice to patrons. (One can only imagine what would have happened had there been notice.) A local politician acknowledged that the five year long struggle with the elderly Korean group probably had something to do with it.
The store's employees were reassigned to other McDonalds stores.
A Burger King nearby -- also populated by lingering Korean seniors -- went out of business shortly before the McDonalds store.

Their rules, their store. Good move to close. You can't just go into a place of business, hang out all day, and not buy anything.

My house is in The Woodlands, TX and I've noticed that a few of the McDonalds south of me in the next county (Harris...where Houston is located) have been remodeled recently and they took out the TVs.
Your update prompted me to read through the thread. Desert Detroiter's posts from 2014 cracked me up. Over a few month period about 18 months or so after his posts, I spent about a month in his neck of the woods. I think I know specifically which McDonalds he's referring to, and what he posted was true when I was there (and probably has been for years ). Other than a nearby Schlotzsky's, I didn't find any other place to eat in the area that had wi-fi.
