I don't know how severe a punishment should be for infecting people with HIV through consensual sex. If he was aware that he was HIV positive then there should definitely be some type of punishment.

The St. Charles Police Department built a case against Johnson over the course of a five-month investigation that started a month after a man told police he was diagnosed with HIV and gonorrhea after having sex with Johnson in his dorm room.

Just wanted to point out that he wasn't sleeping with women. Birth control pills don't do much for gay men. lol.
My mistake. But the point about BC not protecting against STDs is still valid. Too many here talk about government funding BC pills ignoring the risk of STDs. I was a teenager in the 80s when aids became publicly known. Back then, HIV was a death sentence. We were scared into using condoms. Girls even kept a box in their purse in case the guy said he didn't have any. Gay men were really scared. Now the fear is gone and cases are on the rise again.
