Dinesh D'Souza was arrested and indicted for illegally contributing to the campaign of Wendy Long against Kirsten Gilibrand. He used others names and submitted false documents.
Why do you say he is a "conservative hero?" He is an author, he is not a political figure. There has been no claim made of IRS targeting
In a written statement released on Thursday, D’Souza's attorney, Benjamin Brafman, argued that "at worst, this was an act of misguided friendship by D'Souza."
"It is important to note that the Indictment does not allege a corrupt relationship between Mr. D'Souza and the candidate," Brafman said. "There was never a corrupt agreement of any kind, nor was there any request made that the candidate take any action or refrain from taking any action as a candidate, or as a US Senator if her political campaign were to have been successful. […] Simply put, there was no 'quid pro quo' in this case, nor was there even any knowledge by the candidate that Campaign Finance Rules may have been violated. Mr. D'Souza did not act with any corrupt or criminal intent whatsoever. He and the candidate have been friends since their college days, and at worst, this was an act of misguided friendship by D'Souza."
So we should let people go if they break the law and are conservative?

2. Under Obama, laws seem to be enforced when it involves conservatives, but otherwise not.
3. Under Obama, anyone voicing dissent to his administration suddenly finds themselves in some legal trouble with the IRS or DOJ.
EVERY AMERICAN should be very, very concerned about the tactics this administration has used. Keep in mind that eventually there will be a republican president. Will such behavior be acceptable then?
The absence of 'justice for all' under Holder and Obama has been turned into a political weapon.
Recall when senator O was campaigning, his handers threatened anyone who 'lied' about o with prosecution. When that got out it seemed to fade away.

If in Solzhenitsyn's 'Gulag Archipeligo' there appeared a story about a political opponent being prosecuted for a traffic lane closure we would shake our collective heads in wonder at the pettiness of such a repressive society and conclude that could only happen in a communist country and never ever in the USA.

The left should be concerned, it is not like they have been kicked out of office in droves before. Both parties are vulnerable when you consider congress has a approval rating that is very low. Part of me wishes that a conservative president would give them a taste of their own medicine. But I know that is not right or a good idea.
