Just thought you all would know, an affluent county South of Columbia had 3 deaths including 2 children in the past 2 weeks. The two children were killed by their mother who assumed they were possessed, and the latest one this week was a 7/11 clerk 15 min away murdered by...a crazy man. But no one is going to care anyways since a gun wasn't involved.
I would say that this thread went WILDLY off topic while both sides of the gun debate started making snarky comments, totally dismissing the actual news stories that you linked to.
The topic of this thread was not gun control, it was murders. I sat here, for pages, wondering when the hell we were actually going to talk about these particular murders.
Columbia Mall shooting, at least 3 dead. Maybe we need to have a sticky shooting thread where all of them can be excused and/or reviled, whichever bent you may be...
Wow--the score is 3 school shootings and 1 mall shooting for the week, and it is still early in the weekend. Wayne LaPierre must be really busy working on talking points, like how mall Gap employees should be armed in order to prevent these tragedies. Must be nice to go to school and shop in the UK and Europe where you don't have to worry about flying bullets. Soon there will be limited entrances to public places and metal detectors will be everywhere. The second amendment will eventually kill our freedoms as well as our citizens.
Harrier, he knew who he wanted to kill. No one with a gun could have prevented that. He had them in his sight and killed them before anyone could have got their gun out.

Every story here, since the police press conference yesterday, has included the Chief's statement that the shooting was "domestic related".
The fact that one victim (at least) was a UMD student may indicate a roommates problem. UMD has had a few serious ones of those the last few years including a couple which ended in fatalities.

How would he have been beat to death. Someone throws a punch at you and you defend yourself likewise. Did you never get into physical fights even as a kid.
in 2011, fist, feet, legs, and other personnel weapons (your body) killed more than shot guns and rifle combined.....
The guns have always been around. What's new is the pills. How many of these shooters turn out to be on antidepressants?
Very true. Too bad the biased media won't report the pharmaceuticals (legal and illegal) involved in these killings. The whole drug histories should be reported, I would suspect extremely rare ones never used any psychotropic drugs.
How many of these killers were on some kind of mind blowing drug? How many were cranked up on some kind of amphetamine or new forms of marijuana like bath salts?
By name, yes. There are quite a few people in Prince George's County (and MD, for that matter) who self-identify as Black, though. And White, also, so I don't get called a racist. I don't believe an ethnicity has been released yet.
