Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a massive amount of cash flowing into Americas law enforcement divisions?

I live out in the countryside and fear criminal activity when I leave the ranch.

I would LOVE to have a police officer posted at my corner 24/7-365!

I would even welcome a "drone" monitoring my acreage so when I leave town law enforcement professionals could protect my home and property from criminal activity.

I have always believed that if your not doing anything wrong you have nothing to fear from law enforcement.

Imagine a world where there was an officer on every corner and every 100 meters on our borders, we could afford that kind of thing if this massive influx of revenue were dedicated to law enforcement and education so kids learn that drug use is detrimental to their future just like we have with cigarettes and criminals run like rats off Americas streets!

Education and law enforcement has been VERY successful reducing nicotine use especially with the youth.

With an increased police presence less people would smoke in public and dare offer drugs to kids. I hate to see people smoking in front of the local store when school lets out, the kids have to look at that as they walk in to buy their candy. If someone throws a lit cigarette out of their car window we could bust their rear for public endangerment! Sick of seeing bums sift through public ash trays for butts!

I wonder how attitudes would change if my local police were able to get new equipment like the military uses and quadruple their staff?

I would also propose a 30% increase in pay for all divisions of law enforcement professionals.

op, I do hope that your post is tongue in cheek. I for one would not be happy to see us move closer to a full on police state.

That would be cool. Here in Colorado, it's going toward school construction, drug education, and regulation of the marijuana stores. All of which I also think are good uses.

We need to prevent crimes before they even happen. Cops should be able to search any home they want at any time they feel like it so we would all be safer........

Seriously? MORE money for law enforcement? A cop on every corner? Worried about crime? Get a gun and learn how to use it. Get homeowners insurance and a dog if you are worried about property crime.

Why on earth would we need more cops to fill out reports after the crime occurs?

It should be used to reduce the tax burden on the rest of us.

When has a new revenue stream ever resulted in that?

I know there are definitely departments out there suffering but I know mine is not. They'll pull anybody over and ticket them for any stupid reason to get that quota, and now they just got brand new spanking cars.

I know you're joking, but that's the last place the money should be going. There are far greater needs in this country than the police force. Mental health programs would be great (see all the public shootings), education, health care, and so on. Police don't even make the list.
