Trying to assign causes and reasoning to the actions of a disturbed person without the benefit of clinical experience and opportunity to talk with the individual is futile.

Was her sister also her mother? I would think that would have more of an effect on her mental condition.

Yeah, I tend not to believe the Daily Mail's on medical things after they claimed Twitter and Facebook cause cancer.

At least this one can't be blamed on the public schools.

Evans, who was home schooled, said he argued with his 15-year-old sister, Mallory, that day after she made a racist comment, and he felt his family were becoming people he hated.

I would love to know what "racist" comment his sister made. When you spend 5 years whipping people up into a frenzy for political gain, it's not surprising that people with mental illness might react.

He actually came from a "good" home... upscale, privileged. He has two other sisters and a father who were not at home at the time.

Right but my point is that maybe these aren't actually "good homes" where the father is away every weekend in DC and the family is "secured" in a gated community. The Connecticut school shooter and Aurora movie theater shooter came from similar "upscale priveleged" backrounds.
