Typical 'let them eat cake' response, Obama does not address the person, he just goes into a campaign stump speech:

Fry Cook Shifted to Part-Time Work Confronts Obama | National Review Online

During a Google Hangout session on Friday, fry cook Darnell Summers told President Obama that his hours were cut due to the Affordable Care Act. “We were broken down to part time to avoid paying health insurance,” he said. Summers explained that he makes $7.25 an hour and has been on strike four times seeking a wage increase. “We can’t survive, it’s not livin’,” he said.

The president responded by urging states to increase the minimum wage. “I am working to encourage states, governors, mayors, state legislators to raise their own minimum wage,” Obama said. “Obviously, the way to reach millions of people would be for Congress to pass a new federal minimum wage law. So far, at least, we have not seen support from Republicans for such a move.”

The president did not address Summers’s comments about the healthcare law.

People want full-time jobs, not part time, not a dollar raise to the minimum wage where they are still in desperate straights and signing up for Food Stamps. PEOPLE DO NOT WANT CRUMBS, or cake for that matter!

Not a great outing by Obama by any means. I watched the video. He completely avoided saying anything about the question.

On the other hand, the guy claims to have "been on strike" for higher wages four times. It's possible that his employer doesn't like him for doing that, and cut his hours because of that. Obamacare may or may not have been the reason, but it sounds like he was certainly TOLD that was the reason.

The President did not address the comments about the effects of the healthcare law on this person's job.

This is why Barack Obama is a worthless President. If he had the balls, he would have admitted that the law is having a negative affect on people's lives. But he's a worthless, pompous, egotistical man-child. A very small man. A coward to the nth degree.

And black people thought he could actually relate to them.

LOL

We need an emoticon that lets me laugh and point fingers at idiots.

If there were no ACA, minimum wage, FICA, UI benefits, EEOC, DoL, OSHA... he'd have all the work he could handle.

I heard a gal on NPR complaining that she only works part time at Walmart, even though she was making $10.50/hr. It was not the pay she was complaining about, it was the 19-20 hours a week she worked.

During the discussion it was learned many people were also working 19-20 hours. Walmart was employing two people working 20 hours to do the work of one full time person working 40 hours a week. Why? The obvious answer is that the burdens government puts on businesses who dare to hire a full time employee made it impractical to do so.

It might not in this case but we know it is being done.

Umm...are you serious? The idea of reducing hours and hiring more part-timers to avoid paying benefits is not a new thing since Obamacare.

Remember the UPS strike in 1997?

When a person starts attacking the person and not the subject then we all know who is wrong don't we?
