I think if some of the ANTIs would really LISTEN, they would find that the majority of Christians think the same way. I think the "6000 years" believers are a small minority of the Bible believers.
For one thing, we simply don't know how long a "day" was in the Six Days of Creation described in Genesis. I don't think it was our current 24 hour "day", but of course, I don't know any more about it than anybody else
This guy has more sense than some of his fellow creationists.
Yeah, right.....
The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians." –Pat Robertson
It's almost impossible to talk facts with people that base things on faith. Unless it upsets them like global warming or what not. Then they want only 100% provable facts and no theories. Weird.

Well said. I don't know where this idea comes from that a big percentage of Christians believe in young earth creationism and are anti-science. Some are, but they're a tiny minority of all Christians.

Nothing weird about it at all.
If you are going to initiate policies which force people to change their behavior, then clearly evidence should be presented that the changes are going to make a difference.
nothing about religion, forces you to change anything.

the six day thing was more about setting the length of a week and the sabbath rather than the actual time it took to create the universe. similar deal with the day in the eye of the lord is a thousand years. it was less about time and more about the eternity of god. man shrugs off one day, god shrigs off one thousand years in the same way kind of thing. there are some that will take things in the bible literally, and we cant do that as many of the things that were written were about things that the people of the time had no idea about. for instance an airplane today is called an iron eagle in the bible.

that may be true with a few hard heads, but understand that cuts both ways, in that there are those that are equally as hard headed on the other side of the argument.
