The article you link to explains that the lack of available banking is a large part of why the dispensaries are being targeted. Perhaps the fed should get with the program and take marijuana off of the banned substances list so that the banks can start handling the money.
LOL. So, it's blowing up on their faces and your solution is to force the whole nation into legalizing drugs. No thanks There are too many red flags. How about admit it didn't work, and close shop?
Never ever have I heard of a marijuana user break into a house, carjack, strong arm rob someone, or any of the sort to get money for their fix. Nor have I ever heard of a bar room brawl due to being intoxicated from marijuana.
But I have heard of dealers getting robbed. Then again liquor stores and banks get robbed also. Marijuana isn't the problem it is the fact that so much cash is there for the picking or robbing the MJ to sell it in another state where it is still illegal.
If this keeps up they are going to have to have ARMED security inside these pot stores.
We've had "pot stores" in California for about two decades now, and I've yet to see one with armed guards - in fact, most don't even have security on the premises.
If the amount of cash is a problem, there's an easy solution... let them take plastic, like most of the clubs around here do. I almost always use credit/debit to pay for my "medication," and only frequent one club that is cash-only. Even so, there hasn't been a huge problem with robberies AFAIK. So maybe just give it a little time to settle, before declaring anything a failure (or victory)? It's been a month, for chrissakes.

I agree. Let's admit that prohibition of marijuana didn't work and close shop on it. After all, it's been nearly a century and marijuana use is at its highest point ever. I'd call that ample evidence that it is a failed policy.

Ban tobacco in all but one or two states and see what happens. The same thing would happen.

It attracts criminals who will increase crime overall. In Holland the number of crime families went from 3 to over 90, and robberies, theft etc skyrocketed. But then again, I already told you.
