I disagree. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one. Clear the lane and get traffic rolling. Why tie up the whole world for one accident?
Agreed.
Me getting to work on-time is more important than someone being rescued and safely receiving medical assistance for his/her injuries from first responders.
That cop should be fired , people dont understand that firefighters are called out to EVERYTHING. Most of these guys are also voluntary and are not getting paid and some are paid. The cop was out of line , i have no problems when a lane is blocked off due to someone needing medical help , also its not easy just to move traffic over from one side to the other.
That cop is a dirt bag and deserves to lose his badge, piece of ****.

Agreed and what made if worse is the cop is a CHP officer; not some Colorado City Arizona "Warren Jeffs" yokel who DOES need to be in jail. Word is the state troopers across the US have the rep of being professional.
... and if someone dies, they block every lane and call it a potential "crime scene" the delays are even longer until the accident investigators arrive and make their reports.
I pulled up on a car fire at night (two lane Hi-way) Both lanes blocked, I simply turned the ignition off, put the radio on and sat there until traffic started moving again. What else is there to do, complain ?

Yes, complain until heads roll. They should have opened at least one lane once any survivors were taken care of and the fire was out. None of that requires blocking both lanes, unless there is an alternate route, for hours.
Or that firemen got injured because some dimwit plowed into the accident zone and no truck was there to protect the rescuers. I'll wait, thank you.
Agreed and I'd rather have a big rig based fire engine sitting behind me than a cop car just in case of dimwits.
