Ala. Chief Justice Jumps Into Gay Marriage Fight - ABC News

Alabama's chief justice, known on the national stage for fighting to display the Ten Commandments in a judicial building, is jumping into the gay marriage debate with his push for a states-led constitutional amendment defining the institution as a union between one man and one woman.

"The moral foundation of our country is under attack," Chief Justice Roy Moore said in an interview with The Associated Press.

Moore said the only way to stop judges who are finding new rights for gay unions is with a state-initiated constitutional amendment. "Government has become oppressive, and judges are warping the law," Moore said.

i disagree the moral foundation of marriage went under attack in 1975 when you decided that my spouse could get credit cards, charge them against me, against my will, in unlimited amounts, and that i must pay them.
when another human being could assign debt against me without my consent and could commit adultry without penalty you already violated the moral foundation of marriage.

Commit adultery without penalty? You want the government to punish adulterers?

This would be in a state where oral or anal sex with anyone other than your spouse is punishable by one year in jail.

So, the government is oppressing this guy's ability to use government to oppress people he doesn't like?

What?

What an arrogant clown. As if government is moral.

And it took gay marriage to make him realize this? Newsflash it has been going on for a long time.
The irony of that statement. He says government is oppressive in the same breath as he is trying to stop two people in love from marrying. As if government owns marriage.

He's right and the raging of the homosexual defenders here show that...nice to see a judge actually standing up for what's right and just and moral.

Oh believe me I know...Best thing I can possibly do is live in a conservative state figure it will be one of the last to allow this perversion to become "legal". Thing that sucks is what Judge Moore is proposing the states constitutional amendment thing ain't working. Activist judges are overturning state laws and constitutional bans left and right...they care nothing for states rights as long as it interferes with their agenda.
