A feud between President Obama and black lawmakers over racial diversity among judges escalated Wednesday.
Valerie Jarrett, the president’s closest adviser, met with Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) members and refused to back down over controversial nominees despite a growing storm of criticism.
Many CBC members say Obama hasn’t fought hard enough to fill the federal bench with the Democrats’ preferred picks, leaving some states with nominees who lack the ethnic diversity of the population they would oversee.
Is the CBC only not a joke when they're disagreeing with Obama? Either way it's politics, midterms are approaching and nobody wants to be nice to the president with a 40% approval rating.
At the beginning of his presidency, Obama had solid backing from the CBC. Now, that members see what he is and has done to the black constituency, they are turning their backs on him.
As the thread title indicated, the solid wall of liberal support Obama once had is splitting and the wall of backing he received is showing cracks.
