Here's more detail from Bloomberg. I knew, just knew, that Chicago was going to be in the mix.

A little reading goes along way.

The article says "6 counties".

The last I heard Counties PAY for inmates through COUNTY taxes, NOT FEDERAL.

I am NOT surprised you didn't know that.

The problem is, not only is it additional monies being put into this failing system, but it's being used to fudge the numbers of people signing up.

You do realize the difference between state/local and federal taxpayers? Surely you have to know that.

Read the article. This isn't about inmates serving sentences. This is about criminals still awaiting trial and reducing recidivism.

I would call your post a "Fail. Big time." But that would be far too nice.

Obamacare expressly prohibits the enrollment of inmates who are serving
full-time sentences behind bars. But there’s a loophole regarding prisoners who
are still awaiting trial. And those are the prisoners that the counties are
targeting. The Daily Mail reported that the jails are actually enrolling these
inmates onto Obamacare to provide them with after-jail addiction counseling and
other mental and behavioral therapies, in order to lower recidivism rates.

I don't different between tax payers, a tax payer is a tax payer, and every federal taxpayer is a local tax payer.

Yeah. And? Taxes are taxes. What are you not understanding?

You do realize they are still in jail, right? How can you not understand that?
