When I see Texas turn blue in a presidential election is when I pop the champagne and call the election in favor of the Democrat candidate.

It worked really well and very little taxpayer money was spent on the program.

"Opperation *******" was about rounding up and deporting.

It is difficult to estimate the number of illegal aliens forced to leave by the operation. The INS claimed as many as 1,300,000, though the number officially apprehended did not come anywhere near this total. The INS estimate rested on the claim that most aliens, fearing apprehension by the government, had voluntarily repatriated themselves before and during the operation.

People forget that only a generation ago, Texas was solidly blue. People like Phil Gramm left the party when it went insane. We are coming to the end of the baby boom generation, and fairly dramatic change should be expected again.

It is up to conservatives and Republicans to figure out how to adapt and overcome. Conservatives must figure out how to get Hispanics to vote 'R,' or watch as liberals take over, and turn a once-great nation into history's biggest insane asylum.

Hispanics aren't as liberal as many think.
The recent immigrants (legal and illegal) are pretty conservative and very religious.

Now you may need to wait a few generations for their kids to grow up with more left leaning values.
