Sen Rand Paul says that Texas could turn BLUE!!

So the gist of this story is that Rand Paul is trying to scare the GOP into being more inclusive? Sort of like Scared Straight only Scared Inclusive/and or Compassionate?

Which makes me wonder how has Rand accomplished what he's preaching?

If you believe politicians aren't about votes, you are very out of touch.

So you think illegals from Mexico are voting in our elections? That might be the dumbest thing I have read on here if there wasn't a thread already about an anti-gay hating the butt sex.

Do you have proof that illegals vote in droves in Texas? Or anywhere for that matter?

Texas has all the ingredients. The problem is that they don't have a high enough voter participation from Hispanics and Blacks.

And truthfully, they never will. Say what you will for conservative whites, but they get off their asses and vote. They know what'sat stake and they see the changing demographics. If you think white Texans are just gonna lay down and watch their state turn blue, you can just forget that. It ain't gonna happen. Turning Texas blue is gonna take a political war to happen, and Democrats rarely have the same guts to take it where the Republicans are willing to take it to.

I just can't see Texas going blue in my lifetime. Hell no.

Many Hispanics may be conservative in lifestyle and philosophy, but they vote liberal. Hispanics voted 71%-27% for Obama over Romney.

Why would they want to vote for a party that actively tries to shun them? Republicans lost the conservative vote from the Hispanics all on their own.

Remember Texas was a Blue state not all that long ago.

In my lifetime there have been more (D) Texas Governors than (r).

And in my dad's 14(D) vs. 4(R).

Yeah, but the days of Lloyd Bentson and Charlie Wilson are OVER. Those Democrats left the party at least 20 years ago.

Texas will always have plenty of Democrats winning in state elections. But I don't ever see Texas being blue in the electoral college tallies.
