"Progressives" like to think of "progress" in terms of the perfection of man and the "evolution" of thought, beyond that of the "enlightenment," eschewing the wisdom of our founders as "outdated" and no longer valid for today.

The truth is something else, however. We are a nation in decay:

Anyone with half a brain knows that the title "progressive" is a joke. They only progress to where they want to progress to. If they don't like it they will be the first to regress.

Very intelligent people set to control others know the power of words.

They will name something totally opposite of what it really is, and sell it lock, stock and barrel, to the uneducated ignorant.
